Statement of Faith

Faith1We believe in the one ever-living, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father, through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Divine inspiration of the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments in their entirety. We believe that the Holy Spirit so moved the writers that the words that they wrote are authoritative statements of truth. The complete Bible is the living word of God - infallible, authoritative and everlasting, and the foundation of all Christian doctrine.

We believe that God in His own sovereign will created the heavens, the earth and all that is contained within the Universe.

We believe in the beginning God created man in His image, innocent, pure and holy; but through the sin of disobedience, Adam and Eve, the first of the human race, fell from their holy state, and God banished them from Eden. Hence by one man's disobedience, sin entered into the world. Because of this sin, mankind is helpless to save itself and is under the condemnation of God to eternal punishment in hell.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternally existing, only begotten Son of the Father conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. As God He became flesh and dwelt among us; He was totally God and yet totally man. Faith2

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ lived a holy, sinless life, died for our sins, was buried and the third day rose from the dead; that He appeared to men who touched Him and knew His bodily presence, that He ascended to His Father in Heaven and will one day return in person with His saints for the full consummation of His Kingdom.

We believe that salvation from the penalty and consequences of sin is found only through the substitutionary atoning death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and that salvation of sinners is by grace through repentance and faith in the work of the Cross.

We believe it is the Holy Spirit alone who convicts men of sin, leads them to repentance, creates faith within them to believe, regenerates and indwells those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and manifests the fruit of the Spirit in the believer.

We believe that baptism in water by full immersion, according to the Scriptures, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is an essential part of the Christian experience.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as a work of grace, separate to salvation and by His power bestows His gifts as He wills on believers even today.

We believe that Godly living should characterise the life of every believer. Believers should live according to the pattern and example given in the Word of God.

We believe that Christians should endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the local church, admonishing all church members that they shall not contend for different views to the disunity of the body.

We believe that miraculous physical healing and deliverance in the name of Jesus were provided in the atonement and are still available for us today.

We believe those who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit will receive a resurrection body at the return of Jesus Christ and be forever with the Lord while those who have not believed will be resurrected to stand at the Judgement Seat of God to receive His judgement and eternal destiny in Hell.

We believe in the actual existence of the devil who is the father of all evil and opposed to God although ultimately subject to the purposes of God and destined to be confined forever to hell.

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ which finds its visible manifestation in the local community of believers and ministers through the cooperative exercise of God given gifts by the entire membership under God anointed and appointed leadership.

We believe that the ordinance of communion in which the death of Jesus Christ and the expectation of His second coming is remembered should be regularly celebrated.

We believe that tithing (10% of all gross income) to the local church is an integral part of faith and was divinely instituted by God. Regular systematic giving and paying of tithes is clearly taught in the Old and New Testaments. It is now known as the grace of giving. All Christians should conscientiously and systematically give offerings and tithe their income to God.
