Serious study of Mathematics at Mount Annan Christian College starts in Junior School. Students are offered a unique chance where the learning progress can be monitored (K-12), needs identified and offer appropriate programs to assist the student to realise their potential.

Understanding adolescents and appropriate learning environment plays a part in our education philosophy and is evidenced in our implementation gender based classes in years 7-10. Girls and Boys learn differently and we endeavour to create classes that will be conducive to each student’s learning ability and style.

Mount Annan Christian College students are offered classes that specialise in giving support for students in specific need. We have an accelerated program and support program that cater to the needs of gifted students and those who need remedial work.

Mount Annan Christian College offers the full range of curricula to the students in the study of Mathematics.

Stage 5
In stage 5 all students are encouraged and required to complete SC at the highest possible level. We offer students the choice of attempting at 5.1, 5.1-5.2 and 5.1-5.3 levels.

Stage 6
In Year 11 courses offered are 2Unit General, 2Unit Advanced and Extension 1 and Extension 2 (in Year 12).

Students at Mount Annan Christian College are encouraged and provided with opportunities in co-curricular activities such as various competitions and excursions to various Mathematics based events.

Technology is widely used in Junior, Middle and Senior school to enhance the learning and understanding of key Mathematical concepts. Some of the technology used and are not limited to:

  • Mathletics (in Junior and Middle School  from term 2 2009)
  • Graphic Calculators (Senior School)
  • Microsoft Excel

Our faculty aims to make the learning of Mathematics as relevant and contemporary as possible by utilising every available avenue open to us.
